Andrew photo and college
Here is another candid photo of Andrew I found on his school's website for you all to enjoy!

He and I spent yesterday at the University of Connecticut where he participated in the "Husky for a Day" program. (Yes, I can't believe this proud Duck could have a Husky son . . . hey, it isn't Washington though! Although I did notice UO and UCONN very close to each other in the NCAA polls this week . . . )
He got to shadow a Junior in the Engineering Department for the day, to include going to classes, lunch and hanging out at the dorms between classes. Some of his comments included; "Wow there are a lot of cute girls in college", "Oh my God the lecture class had more people in it than in my entire school", "Why does an Engineering student have to take Philosophy and even more important, why are they talking about sex in that class??", "This is like an entire city of people my age all living together and hanging out everyday. Nice!", "There is so much focus and support here on school (ok, that sounds like a "duh" statement, but he was excited at the level of student dedication to their classes in that they actually care, support each other and pay attention as well as the amount of support!", "They play WII in the dorms between classes - sweet!", and "I get to eat unlimited meals in the cafeterias . . . that is SO cool". He had a really good time and is fired up and ready now to go to college. UCONN is on his short list, but we are also visiting some Tech Schools in the next couple weeks.
SAT tests are next week which he has been getting ready for. It is all starting to come at him pretty fast, which is exciting, and very scary. They are also starting some of the Senior farewell events. This week is Senior Night at the football game. I have to go out on the field with him as an escort so they can say goodbye to the Seniors in the Marching Band, Cheerleading and Football Teams. Here we go . . . time to invest in Kleenex.
