Summer wedding in Oregon!

We just returned from a whirlwind trip back home to Oregon and are trying to get ready for school to start this week. Junior and Senior high school years may now commence! (scary)

We had a fantastic trip home filled with friends and family and as always, not enough time. So much to see and do. The kids and I had a lot of fun showing our home to Paul and he agreed that it was truly beautiful and would be glad to come back again any time as we kept telling him all of the things we didn't get to see while we were there!

We started our week with a visit with the kid's father Wayne, his wife Autumn and their son Nathan. Some striking resemblences in these siblings:

Then while the kids went to OMSI with Dad, I took Paul for a tour of the Oregon/Washington border for some Pacific Northwest scenery! The sun was out and it was HOT! We drove along the Columbia Gorge and stopped at a couple falls, including Multnomah Falls seen here:

Then we spent a few days in Waldport with Grandma Beryl and Peg. The Hales came up to the river for a couple of nights and we spent a lot of time laughing, playing cards, and having fun! This time Mother Nature was showing her true NW colors and displayed lots of rain and thunderstorms. Sadly, this limited our ability to spend time on the beach:

Then off to Eugene for a few days of visiting with my best friend Tina and her brood. We decided to take a long drive through Central Oregon to hike Crater Lake. Here are several photos of our jaunt. And yes, it is really that blue and beautiful. Oh, and after we hiked down the rim and back up, we saw the sign that said we had just climbed the equivilant of a 75-story building. We were tired puppies!!:

We went home the Roseburg way so we could have dinner with Tina's parents and catch up. Along the way we stopped where the North and South Umpqua rivers collide to dip our toes in:

Finally and probably most importantly, we ended our trip with the main event, the marriage of my brother Jason to his lovely bride Heather. It was a gorgeous outdoor wedding with all of the family there - many who had not seen eachother in nearly a decade. It was magical and a moment none of us will forget:

The kids were in charge of the gift table and guest books:

Jason and his groomsmen entered to "Me and My Gang" from Rascall Flats -

Dad walked Heather down the aisle (I'm being nice here and not showing you Jason or our faces at this point, as we were all crying in earnest - beautiful moment):

They read vows that they had written to each other and then when Jason was given permission, he took full advantage of kissing his bride:

After family photos it was food, dancing and bubbles! (Red-head in the light blue shirt is my baby brother Don):

Beautiful beginning for a beautiful couple. You done good little bro . . .
